HI has nine different concepts for 38 rooms. The 9 different concepts of room of HI hotel have open shower, open toilet or separate bathroom. Each concept has its own special relationship to the space designed for both living and experimentation. The focus is not on decorative themes, but instead offers a broad scope of alternative approaches to the standard rules that usually apply to such a setting.
The individual room is a basic structure, designed to exist as an entity in itself - as a venue for the mini event of your stay. The different areas are based on an open architecture that deliberately avoids any specialized structures. The impression created is smooth, as movements flow from one activity to another.
Comfort goes beyond simple physical comfort or visual enjoyment. The comfort arises from the simplicity of the basic structures urging visitors to make the most of the present. |
Monospace The private room is open in style, designed on three levels where each has a colour and purpose: comfort, relaxation and natural breathing.
Up & Down Shelves made from interwoven chestnut tower, surrounding the area and forming a border between two zones: the upper zone for services and the lower zone for relaxation. The bath area is behind a chestnut screen, like a trellis leading to a garden. |
Indoor terrace The furniture is arranged in the central area, with the furnishings forming a "stage" or indoor terrace. At the far end of the terrace, a plant screen provides the privacy needed for showering, while the toilet is inside a structure similar to a garden shed that resembles a lantern when the lights are on.
Happy day The room focuses on the shift from day to night - a process of metamorphosis. Daytime has a sitting room with a lounge in harmonious white and sherbet green wood. By night two doors open into a pink alcove and revealing the bed. The reverse side of the door is fitted with a water jug and slippers for night time comfort.
Strates Here is a room to be experienced moving from one stratum to the next, starting from the bottom and moving to the top, resting, enlivening, relaxing and dreaming. The different functions are arranged in the space, but do not follow horizontal lines, preferring a vertical approach to offer a different angle on everyday life. |
Digital The Digital Room shows a clear cyber-culture influence. The walls feature giant pixels and on one wall a light box displays still and moving images,
Technocorner The room is devoted to sound and pictures, a private auditorium. The large screen can be seen from either the bed or bathtub and acts as a dressing screen between the bedroom and the bathroom. The sofa blaster - an entertainment suite in itself, has built-in speakers, head-sets, and a record collection from the "F Communications" label that is kept in the armrests of the sofa. |
White & White This room is an area of immaculate white, where traditional interior design principles have been swept aside. The table turns into a bed. The four-poster bed exclusively designed for HI by aqua mass, becomes a bath clad in white vinyl and topped with a fuchsia-coloured plexiglas "bath-sky-dome". White & white is devoted to a sense of well-being, providing fresh, white products.
Some split-level rooms have a private outdoor terrace with private spa.
Rendez-vous This versatile area can be used as a bathing lounge or an office. The spacious bathroom, which features a lava rock bathtub, opens onto a private terrace - a living area with a shower and adjustable seating. |
In Room Facilities Each room has control interfaces at two points; the bed-head which as controls for lighting and the shutters, and the "totem pole", with all controls for: hi-fi system and television, air-conditioning, DECT cordless phone with direct line, and analogue or broadband internet access. The rooms also feature television with flat LCD screen and satellite channels. |
