In Cannes there are many things to do: if everybody knows the beautiful beaches and the night life of the Côte d'Azur not all know about the Museums and the Events.
The Musée de la Mer for example that is located in the Fort Royal on the Isle of Sainte-Marguerite off the coast of Cannes. It was founded in 1973 to house the underwater and land archaeology collections.
The Musée de la Castre: This museum occupies the former Castle of Cannes, atop the hill of Le Suquet. Owned by the abbots of Lérins (on the neighbouring islands), lords of Cannes, the castle was built to protect the harbour and adjoining coast (11th-19th centuries). The castle, a listed historic monument, has housed the collections of the Museum of Cannes since 1952.
