Ramatuelle,
land of Provence and of the country 'des Maures', is situated in
the peninsula of Saint-Tropez: a vineyard giving some famous wine,
some hills of ancient cork-oaks and pines. Built against the hills,
Ramatuelle faces out on a fabulous vista of the Bay of Pampelonne.
The village is closed in by ramparts and you can see the rooftops
of pink tiles and the ancient stone houses lined along the narrow
streets.
Nearby is the
famous beach of Pampelonne, with the charm of its fine sand though
wild and a bit disorganized, it stretches out for five kilometers
and is carved with creeks and inlets all with chyrstal clear water.
The inlets and the creeks areappreciated by those who are looking
for more privacy.
The cultural
life in Ramatuelle is particularly rich for there are jazz and classical
music festivals and excellent theater. Many celebrities have fallen
in love with this area and have made it their home. The intimacy
of the creeks, the beauty of the bottom of the sea are discovered
along the littoral path. The sarrasin village offers some discoveries
and inebriates every sense: traditional craftsmen, shops, traditional
caterings.
